How To Photograph Strangers

This is a difficult subject...especially when you have an eye for the beautiful in reality AND a heart for the people who are living it.  Snapping pictures with your $1,000+ camera of impoverished people who can't afford shoes and then turning your back and walking away isn't exactly kosher, and I know it can be hard to leave that one shot of perfect humanity behind...so take a look at Nat Geo's slideshow of suggestions for Photographing People When You Travel.

I think there are some great ideas for connecting with the people and situations that you want to photograph without robbing them of their privacy or their dignity.  It will make you both feel great about some of the most important photography out there: the reality of it all.  Don't just be a spectator: connect with humanity.  Then show the world the beauty and the beast so we can connect and make a change!
